The Maximum Loss Limit is an end-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown. It sets the minimum balance your account must stay above. If your balance touches or falls below it, the account is liquidated.
Limits by Account Size
Account Size | Max Loss Limit | Starting Floor | Locks When EOD Balance Reaches | Locked Floor |
$50,000 | $2,000 | $48,000 | $52,100 | $50,000 |
$100,000 | $3,000 | $97,000 | $103,100 | $100,000 |
$150,000 | $4,500 | $145,500 | $154,600 | $150,000 |
How the Trailing Works
The limit is calculated at the end of each trading day, based on your highest end-of-day balance. It is never calculated intraday, so an open winner that pulls back during the day does not move it.
It only moves up, never down.
Example ($50K): Day 1 closes at $51,000 → floor moves to $49,000. Day 2 closes at $51,800 → floor moves to $49,800. Day 3 closes at $51,200 → floor stays at $49,800.
When the Limit Locks
Once your end-of-day balance reaches the starting balance plus the Max Loss Limit plus $100 ($52,100 on a $50K account), the floor locks at your starting balance ($50,000) from the next trading day onward and never moves again — including after payouts. Anything below the starting balance is liquidated.
Example: a $50K funded account at $56,000 has a locked floor of $50,000. After a $2,000 payout the balance is $54,000, and the trader still has $4,000 of cushion above the floor.
