How Does the Loss Limit Change After a Payout?

How the maximum loss limit changes after your first payout.

Payouts do not change your Maximum Loss Limit floor once it has locked.

How It Works

  • Once your end-of-day balance reaches the starting balance plus the Max Loss Limit plus $100 ($52,100 / $103,100 / $154,600 for $50K / $100K / $150K), the floor locks at your starting balance ($50,000 / $100,000 / $150,000).

  • A payout reduces your balance, but the floor stays at the starting balance.

  • Your cushion after a payout = your balance after the payout minus the starting balance.

Example ($50K Funded Account)

  • Balance: $56,000. Floor: locked at $50,000.

  • You request a $2,000 payout and receive $1,800 (90%).

  • New balance: $54,000. Floor: still $50,000. Cushion: $4,000.

Why Payouts Are Capped at 50% of Profit

Each payout is limited to the lesser of $5,000 or 50% of your account profit, so at least half your profit always stays in the account as a buffer above the floor.

Contract Limit After a Payout

Funded contract limits scale with profit. If a payout drops your profit into a lower tier, your contract limit drops at the next trading session.
